Troll Creek Shiraz
Barossa Valley

60 years ago, a traditional technique of layering was used to regenerate the original aging vines in our Vine Vale vineyard. These vines now produce the fruit for this premium single-vineyard wine, which was hand-picked and hand-crafted into a classic full-bodied Barossa Shiraz.

Winemaker Comments – Christian Canute
Aged for 30 months in 20% new French oak, 10% new American oak and the remainder in seasoned French oak, this is a great example of Barossa Shiraz. The heavily-laden nose combines black forest cake, cherries and olives with blackcurrant and tobacco, lifted by spices reminiscent of an Argentine BBQ. Vibrant fruit dominates the palate, balanced by subtle French oak into a deeply complex wine – long, rounded and silky smooth, yet deeply complex in flavor. Drinking well in its youth, it will develop over time and reward the patient.

Vintage Comments – James Hage, Vigneron
Our Shiraz fruit is grown on the deep sands of Vine Vale, on 60-year-old vines, layered from parent vines over a century old. Pruned back to single wire and individually hand-spurred to around 20 spurs per vine, they crop at just 2 tonnes per acre.
